    List of accredited schools

The Construx list of universities and colleges that offer undergraduate study and degrees in software engineering is either really outdated, using a criteria that I don't understand, or a joke.

I went to Georgia Tech (Georgia Institute of Technology to be technical) and graduated with a BS in Computer Science, with specializations in Networking and Software Engineering.  Does their lack of apperance on this list mean that GT's College of Computing has not satisfy the ABET's defintion for a degree in software engineering?  Just curious.

    Re: List of accredited schools

Our list contains schools have been accredited in software engineering by ABET, the official organization in the US that accredits applied science, computing, engineering, and technology programs. Georgia Tech's lack of appearance on the list does indeed mean that its software engineering program hasn't been accredited by ABET. Georgia Tech's computer science program is accredited.

You can see a list of all accredited programs in software engineering, computer science, and other disciplines at http://www.abet.org/schoolareaeac.asp.

    Steve McConnell:

You can see a list of all accredited programs in software engineering, computer science, and other disciplines at http://www.abet.org/schoolareaeac.asp.

    Thanks Steve,

I actually tried that link as listed on the page you guys host, and in link you just provided, but the page seems to be broken:

    ABET website:
These lists include programs that are accredited as of
    October 1,

    ADODB.Field error '80020009'

Either BOF or EOF is True, or the current record has been deleted. Requested operation requires a current record.

    /schoolareaeac.asp, line 0

I then went to their page, and navigated to http://www.abet.org/accreditcac.asp to search for a list of software engineering accredited schools, but didn't see the software engineering category.

My apologies if I am being obtuse.

    Re: List of accredited schools

You're right that the link I copied from my browser doesn't actually work.

You can go to www.abet.org. Click on the green "accredited programs" square toward the bottom. On the next page, click on "engineering programs" for software engineering or on "computing programs" for computer science programs. Assuming you're looking for software engineering, on the next page in the "Search by discipline" drop-down box, select "Softaware" and then press "Go." That will take you to the list of ABET accredited software engineering programs.

    Cheers,
