    Forum on Software Metrics

Hi, how about adding a forum on software metrics.  That is a topic of great interest to me and I'd love to discuss issues with others.

    Thanks!

    Re: Forum on Software Metrics

Hi SixSigmaGuy, Welcome to the Conversation!

Do you want it to be its own forum or can it be a thread in various forums? I think it makes a great thread in this one. If you like, I can set up a poll and we can see what the participants think in a few days. We just sent out our "open for business" sign (as you know) and membership is growing rapidly at this point.

I like the idea of having it in the existing structure because I like to see it connected with specific goals (i.e. how do we know we are doing OK at 'X'). I am sometimes concerned that, when separated out, it appears to academic (metrics for metrics sake).

    Thoughts?

    Enjoy,
    Earl

I'm glad SixSigmaGuy asked for this. Personally, I like having it as its own forum. As soon as I saw the link, I jumped straight here and joined Construx Conversations. I am doing quality assurance tasks on a systems engineering project and very interested in any information about software metrics, especially current industry benchmark information for OO, .Net, and C#.

    Re: Forum on Software Metrics

OK, I have created a sub-forum in this practice area called metrics. Let's see how it does. Also, feel free to post in any forum area and use the tag "metrics". This will allow interested folks to search among all the site posts.

    Enjoy,
    Earl
